Below you'll find a list of some of Southern Alabama's cultural offerings!  THE BALDWIN POPS Founded in 1997, the Baldwin Pops Concert Band consists of volunteer musicians from Baldwin and surrounding counties. The band performs in Daphne, Fairhope, Foley and Gulf Shores.
BELLINGRATH GARDENS, 251-973-2217 Mr. & Mrs. Walter Bellingrath opened The Gardens year round to the public in 1934. Throughout the year, this Garden Estate is in full bloom with the camellias/winter, azaleas/spring, roses/summer and chrysanthemums/fall featurng home tours, river cruises and magic Christmas lights.
EASTERN SHORE ART CENTER, 251-928-2228 A primary gathering spot for private and citywide events such as Fairhope's Artwalk (takes place 1st Friday of each month). Besides its four galleries with monthly revolving exhibits and member artists' sales, ESAC is a teaching facility offering classes to children and adults.
THEATRE 98, 251-928-4366 (Fairhope) An intimate, 94-seat theatre in downtown Fairhope offering productions on the Eastern Shore for more that 45 years. Its professionals pride themselves on the wide range of plays they perform in their playhouse, from classics to Neil Simon comedies.
JOE JEFFERSON PLAYERS, 251-471-1534 The oldest continuing community theater in the state, their playhouse features a 350-seat theatre including an orchestra pit, large stage with runway, lobby and refreshment area. JJP hosts a variety of offbeat comedies, musicals and more.
MOBILE BALLET, 251-342-2241 The Gulf Coast's premier ballet company offers a stunning array of productions that appeal to the senses and include performances by world-renowned guest artists as well as seasoned local company members. Artistic Director, Winthrop Corey, brings productions such as December's classic - The Nutcracker - to life!
MOBILE CARNIVAL MUSEUM, 251-432-3324 The museum highlights the history of Mardi Gras in its true birthplace, Mobile. Visitors can immerse themselves in the rich history and traditions of "carnival", first celebrated in the New World in 1703. They can also trace the history of masked parading societies from the first one, the Cowbellion de Rakin society, to the more than 50 that exist today.
MOBILE MUSEUM OF ART, 251-208-5200 Home to first-class rotating exhibits as well as diverse collections displayed through its permanent galleries, the museum is located in a picturesque lakefront setting in Langan Park. From African and Asian art to American furniture, sculpture and crafts of glass, silver and wood, you'll enjoy it all!
MOBILE OPERA, 251-423-6772 Alabama's oldest performing arts organization continues to dazzle audiences with its dramatic and comedic performances each season as well as with its community outreach programs. Vibrant costumes and colorful backdrops support a professional cast of talented artists!
MOBILE POPS, 251-679-6036 Developed from the Spirit of Mobile Marching 200, this group of dedicated performers conceived the Starbright Concert Series and has provided free concerts to area residents for 31 years in a variety of outdoor venues, including Battleship Park Aircraft Pavilion, Dauphin Island and Langan Park Performing Arts Pavillion.
MOBILE SYMPHONY, 251-432-2010 A full season of live symphonic music plus free outdoor concerts, world-renowned guest artists, a youth orchestra and a firm commitment to education characterize today's Mobile Symphony. The symphony is also the official orchestra for the Mobile Ballet and Mobile Opera, as well as hosts a four-concert Chamber Music Series at the University of South Alabama's Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall.
MOBILE THEATRE GUILD, 251-433-7513 Presenting performances in an intimate setting in Midtown Mobile, this nonprofit community theater - which began as a CYO program for teens - has been in existence since 1949. Now the guild showcases local talent in contemporary professional plays, touting itself as the area's off Broadway connection.
MUSEUM OF MOBILE, 251-208-7569 Housed in the 1857 National Landmark Building, the Southern Market/Old City Hall, this museum explores the history and culture of Mobile while offering provoking and innovative 21st century exhibits featuring stirring content for adults and interactive exhibits for children.
PLAYHOUSE IN THE PARK, 251-602-0630 A training facility and performance venue for young peope in theatre arts, four productions are presented annually along with a full-scale puppet theatre, traveling professional drama troupe and dance, drama, piano and scenic art instruction.
SOUTH BALDWIN COMMUNITY THEATRE, 251-968-6721 A nonprofit organization comprised of performers of all occupations dedicated to bringing productions to life on the Alabama Gulf Coast. From dramas, inspirational plays, comedies and classics, there is something for everyone each season.
SPACE 301, 251-208-5671 Mobile's contemporary arts center housing 7,000 square feet of gallery space that hosts various exhibits by nationally and regionally known artists several times annually. The Gallery is closed every Monday and Tuesday.
BATTLESHIP USS ALABAMA, 251-433-2703 Explore 175 acres of history and seven decades of heroism at one of America's finest military parks. Walk the decks of a mighty battlsehip, go below in a World War II submarine, view cockpits of combat aircraft. You'll also see tanks, a Vietnam River Patrol Boat and a plane like the one flown by the Tuskegee Airmen!
